Interestingly, in addition to more efficient, cheaper price compared with the 6-speed. Even with a performance comparable intensity 7-speed dual-clutch on the BMW M3 that was introduced years ago.
And this luxury car manufacturer in Germany is still focused on the transmission system following a dual clutch for models with a large machine

“Automatic Transmission 8-speed developed by ZF can compare with the transmission double clutch. It is more lightweight, efficient and profitable in a matter of cost. The double-clutch transmission is expensive and heavy, and only match in the car with a longitudinal engine and rear wheel movement.
The 8-speed transmission of the results of ZF is designed for cars and the movement behind the wheel all wheel drive (AWD). In fact, it is appropriate for some models of BMW and Audi launched this year. From the results of the tests, ZF transmission was 3 spring cent more economical (fuel), and 6 percent (diesel), compared with a 6-speed.
