3D High Frame Single Lens Camera Technology
Not to be skipped by FujiFilm announcing FinePix Real 3D system, Sony proclaimed the development of 3D technology in the form of single-lens 3D camera. This 3D camera technology capable for recording a 3D image naturally and smoothly at 240fps (frames per second).
To obtain 3D 240fps movie, Sony technology combines new optical system for single-lens 3D camera that captures the left and right images simultaneously using available high-tech recording frame rate (HFR). In the 3D camera system that is half mirror with a separate lens for the left and right eye, the range of parallax can be arranged, allowing the depth of the 3D image to be modified. However, when operating the zoom and focus functions in systems, the sensitivity of the human eye as well as differences in image quality is needed complex technology. This is to ensure that each lens is well coordinated, and there was no difference in the optical axis, image size and focus.
By using a mirror instead of the shutter, the light coming in can be simultaneously separated into left and right image and recorded when the light reaches the parallel region (the region where the combined light from the focal point on the subject of a parallel) of the relay lens. Left and right images are separated and then processed and recorded with the left right image sensor respectively. Because there was no difference in time when the image right and left eye were arrested, 3D image of the natural and smooth could be arrested. This includes scenes involving quick movements, such as sports.
When not in use polarized glasses, the audience will still be able to see the natural 2D image. This is because the difference image to the left and right eye is still in the range of recognized human eye as a blur.
