For office workers, what is the most useful technology? Using instant messaging like Yahoo! Messenger (YM) or social networking like Facebook?
Answer that question, revealed in a survey report entitled “A Day in the Life of a U.S. Information Worker” from Forester Research Inc. Survey of 2000 workers in the United States was to determine trends in technology use office areas. The first virtual world for business, three measuring technology usefulness in an office: instant messaging (IM), social networking sites and web conferencing tools. Apparently, the three communication media mention that the winner is IM.
IM more frequently used (about 25%) compared with networking sites like Facebook (15%). This figure is also higher than the use of web technology conference (10%).
This survey also reveals the fact that e-mail and telephone is still the subject of communications services business.
Now, for gadget business smart phone, despite its large market was only 11% are using it to work. Survey of Forester also showed that more smart phones held by a senior manager.
What about the desktop? Of course still rule the desktop work environment, as many as 76% of respondents using the system. The workers usually spend time at the keyboard for 4 hours or more each day.
